Dear friends,
Now more than ever, I need your help to protect and restore our quality of life. I am running for re-election so that we can save our state from liberal Democrat majorities and a governor whose tax and spending agenda threatens our fragile economy.
Our state government, under one-party control, has placed the needs of government and special interests ahead of the needs of its taxpayers and small business owners. The results are clear.
When our economy slowed, instead of coming to the aid of families and small businesses, the Democrats only increased the burden by raising $800 million in new taxes – the largest tax increase in state history – when people could least afford it. Government spending has increased 33 percent over four years. We cannot continue this way.
In these difficult times, instead of government setting priorities – government has become the priority. Majority Democrats raised taxes in order to give pay raises to state employees, while one in ten of us are unemployed. This is not acceptable.
Now is your opportunity to invest in a different vision– one where state government lives within its means, in good times as well as bad. We can have a state government where people trust their leaders to look out for their best interests, not special interests.
Your generous contribution will help restore balance in Olympia that is desperately needed. Imagine what we can do with your help if we can change the playing field. Together, we can create a more accountable state government that listens and responds to the needs of the citizens. I welcome you to share any concerns and ideas for making government work better for you, your family, or your business.
I need your help today. I have a Democratic opponent running against me with a lot of Democratic money behind her. I need your financial support now. Please fill out and return the enclosed envelope today.
On behalf of my family and campaign committee, thank you for your continued support. Together we will build a better Washington.
In Service,
Richard DeBolt
